Maui Vacation Summer 2011

This year we made a wonder trip to the island of Maui, Hawaii. Our very first time there and I must say I was so excited to finally take a vacation and visit such a luscious green place, with turquoise water, and soft sand like I was walking over a pillow. The air was clean and fresh and the locals very welcoming. It was a trip that will live vividly in my mind for the rest of my life.

Hey everyone, sorry for being gone for a month, it's been a crazy month! Work went from many morning shifts to late shifts for a few weeks, birthday party's, a Bridal party, Memorial Day weekend celebration, and starting the online planning of visiting Maui in September. So much that I have no idea where the month of May even went! 

So...

To update you on a few things I did here are a few pictures for all of you!

I'm sitting here thinking what fragrance will I be buying my mother for Mother's Day. She runs out quickly because she uses them all up, and all she ever wants as gifts are perfumes! so should I buy her something she is out of or search for something new tomorrow. I already have a good idea of what she likes and what she doesn't, hmmm. In the mean time I'm sharing with all of you my favorite, I go to my happy place when I smell it :-)

 After smelling and trying so many perfumes the last few weeks, Victor & Rolf has made me very happy creating Flowerbomb! 

What's in my makeup bag

This morning I decided to clean my makeup bag and I took everything out to do so. I found a moment to take a snapshot of everything I carry around with me. I've been inspired by a few people to do this post.  Do I use it all throughout the day? No but you never know when you might. I named some, others I didn't on this pic. My brushes are Mac and Sigma if you are curious :-)

I know for sure I may not be touching up throughout the day anymore after purchasing this!!!

A few weeks ago I was given an Sample of this at the Urban Decay counter at Macy's. Urban Decay all nighter setting spray.  3 days ago I bought the full bottle, not cheap $29, but I haven't had to retouch my makeup during the day AND with this heat I spray a little bit more during the day and it gives my makeup up a fresh look again and a nice glow! I will carry the small one with me in my purse and the full size on my makeup counter. It's worth every penny and it sprays so evenly!

Story of my hair...

Going on 30 years with this head of hair, and I'm asking myself, is it time for change or keep it looking the way it is?

 Here are a few photos of my hair in the last 29 years. 

I believe I was less then a year old here, but had super 

dark hair and lots of it I think.

4 years old or so, I always had to have it

combed and didn't like bows or pony tails

either, haha! I always had to go loose with it

from what my parents tell me. 

OMG, so if you guys came from my old blogspot, you might have see this

picture already. The first was from high school, had it super curly, tight like a

perm. Lots of hairspray no color yet. After I graduated my phases began, still curly but 

lots of color. The last photo was me going back in 2004 to black like I had before I messed it up. 

NOW...

I get comments like " your hair is like Kim Kardashian" or "do you have extensions?" I never copied her nor ever have had extensions, all natural! I've had dark hair and started curling it like I do before she even came into the spotlight.

I will admit I love her style and I think its a great compliment because she has beautiful hair!

I think dark hair is attractive and extotic! To change my hair color will

take alot and a special person to change my mind, but so far nobody. I didn't like it in the past and may never like my hair another color again. Don't think I can ever go short either. I'm happy with what I have. If I can pull off having very black hair, I intend to keep it! Its definitely a feature that attracted my loving boyfriend! ;-)

What I use

Superstar Professional 1" falt iron. Have been using it for 6 years now and no other.

Today

I purchased a curling iron for the first time. I have always used my flat iron to straighten and curl my hair.

Conair tourmaline ceramic curling iron 1 1/4 . I want to try something new with my curls.

New Sigma's this month!

Can't say enough how much I love Sigma Brushes! I bought some about 2 months ago, Sigma Sigmax brushes, and love those so much and have been holding up every single day. This time I wanted to buy 2 new ones, one for my makeup bag to travel with and a blush brush for my new Tarte Amazonian clay blush (in Blissful) and Nars blushes ( Orgasm & Gilda). They are very pigmented so need a good brush to handle them.

Sephora Beauty Insider Chic Week

Did some major shopping at Sephora yesterday and today. I've been a beauty insider for about 3 years now and love getting the samples and points. Best of all these type of events! It's the only time you get a discount there.

I bought with a purpose, the weather! I do not plan on wearing foundation or power on my face on the crazy hot days in the next few months, but I still want to look natural with some color! Im focusing on my skin and especially around my eyes.

I used the tinted moisturizer and the Tarte blush today and both still look fresh on my face! I used the Flowerbomb perfume and enjoyed the smell on me all day too!

Aviators for me!

Sunglasses are worn throughout the year, especially during Spring and Summer. We all get tempted to buy new ones but its not the easiest thing to shop for. Lucky for me I found two new pairs that I love! I have a few sunglasses already that have been quite expensive in the last few years but this year I thought I would budget and found them.

My new Armani Exchange Aviators. Picked these up at 

T.J. Maxx retails for $69.00 but got them for $19.99. I think someone 

was hiding them because I found it behind a pair of shoes nicely put.

These have the gold frame and tortoise tint to them.
